As someone who lives and dies on RSS feeds, I was hoping that Reeder (my favorite client app across phone, tablet and desktop) would be ready by July 1st with updated versions that supported an alternate syncing backend.

As of a few weeks later only the iPhone version has been updated, so I’ve been experimenting with various other client apps (and their preferred syncing backends).

For those that are curious, here’s what’s working best for me at the moment…

Backend Sync Service: Feed Wrangler

iPhone Client: Reeder

iPad Client: Mr. Reader

OS X Client: ReadKit

Once Reeder with Feed Wrangler support is released for iPad and OS X it’ll be time for another game of musical chairs.
