Media Diary (May 2019)

Some things I’ve enjoyed lately, in no particular order, and not necessarily only recent stuff:

Chernobyl (TV): Chilling, terrifying and mesmerizing

John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (Movie): The series somehow keeps getting better and better

War Of The Realms: Journey Into Mystery (Comic): The McElroy brothers meet Marvel

The Shrink Next Door (Podcast): Another fascinating story from Wondery

Fleabag (TV): This show is staggeringly good

Game of Thrones: The Last Watch (Movie): What a massive, massive effort

The Queen (Podcast): A look at the origin of the “welfare queen” myth

Catch-22 (TV): Loving it so far, it’s a real feather in Hulu’s cap

ReMastered: The Lion’s Share (Movie): I wasn’t aware of all the drama behind “The Lion Sleeps Tonight”

The Act (TV): Watched the documentary years ago, and the story remains incredibly disturbing

Knock Down The House (Movie): This should be required viewing for the “AOC is dumb” crowd

I Think You Should Leave With Tim Robinson (TV): Feels like the heir to Mr. Show

The Front Runner (Movie): This scandal is adorable in the age of Trump

Cobra Kai (TV): Kreese always delivers

Generation Wealth (Movie): Sigh

At the Heart of Gold: Inside The USA Gymnastics Scandal (TV): If the podcast made you angry, this’ll sustain your rage

Disgraceland (Podcast): Great concept for a show (examinations of rock and roll scandals through the years)
