Media Diary (August 2022)

Some stuff I’ve experienced lately (and not necessarily only new releases):

Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty (TV): Nobody’s more surprised than I am that I went on (and really enjoyed) a deep Lakers history binge this month, led by this awesome series…

Legacy: The True Story of the LA Lakers (TV): …continuing with this riveting documentary…

Magic & Bird: A Courtship of Rivals (Movie): …and on to this, I guess I’m a jock now?

Prey (Movie): Absolutely fabulous

Fed Up (Podcast): Fiber drama!

House of The Dragon (TV): Off to a solid start

Light & Magic (TV): What flat-out mindblowing careers

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law (TV): She’s fantastic

American Scandal: Edward Snowden (Podcast): I love this show’s general vibe, and obviously this season’s subject is fascinating

Pleasure (Movie): After some pretty bleak stuff, the ending was a nice touch

Running with the Devil: The Wild World of John McAfee (Movie): Bummed that they didn’t cover his “I’ll eat my own dick” challenge, but otherwise solid

The Sandman (TV): Still pretty early with this, but along for the ride

One Year: 1986 (Podcast): Have a feeling this season’s gonna hit me right in the memories

Nathan For You (TV): I’d somehow never watched this incredible show after all these years, and was spurred on by The Rehearsal

Trainwreck: Woodstock ’99 (TV): What a hellscape

Chernobyl: The Lost Tapes (Movie): That roof clearing duty 💀

Dreaming Walls: Inside The Chelsea Hotel (Movie): What a vibe

D.B. Cooper: Where Are You?! (TV): I was only loosely familiar with his story, and enjoyed learning all the details

The Most Hated Man on The Internet (TV): What a piece of work
