Here’s some stuff I’ve experienced lately (and not necessarily only new releases):
Barbie (Movie): Real talk, this was sort of a miracle
The Bear (TV): Continues to remain just all-around fantastic
Oppenheimer (Movie): Amazing and troubling
To End All War: Oppenheimer & The Atomic Bomb (Movie): Can’t stop(p), won’t stop(p)
American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer (Book): Incredibly compelling and a pleasure to read
Foundation (TV): I’d forgotten how insanely epic this show is, and this season’s off to a strong start
Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One (Movie): I honestly don’t know how these keep getting better and better
Deadloch (TV): Ripped through this on a recommendation from Gina B, and it was legit amazing
Asteroid City (Movie): Wes Anderson-y as all hell, but I was a fan
What We Do In The Shadows (TV): I would watch Matt Berry read the phone book
Indiana Jones and The Dial of Destiny (Movie): I enjoyed myself, but my wife (who separately watched it later) absolutely did not
I’m a Virgo (TV): Just starting, but I’m intrigued
Dead Ringers (Movie): Had to go back to the source after enjoying the series, and wasn’t disappointed
Muscles & Mayhem: An Unauthorized Story of American Gladiators (TV): The other one focused on the creator(s), this one on the gladiators, which means we of course need a third one about the contestants
The Super Mario Bros. Movie (Uh, Movie): Pretty fun largely due to Jack Black, though major points deducted for the lack of Waluigi
The Idol (TV): Obv had to watch based on the intense online hate, but found it to be just generally mediocre, with some pretty healthy doses of porn-caliber dialogue
Flamin’ Hot (Movie): Pretty much exactly what I expected, minus a scene where the dude trips and spills hot sauce into a factory vat
The Ashley Madison Affair (TV): Real class acts all around
