Here’s some stuff I’ve experienced lately (and not necessarily only new releases):
Killers of The Flower Moon (Movie): Found it maddening and really, really powerful
Keys To The Kingdom (Podcast): There are few things I love more than backstage theme park shenanigans
The Fall of The House of Usher (TV): Only two eps in, but very much enjoying
The Deepest Breath (Movie): Honestly not sure if I’ve ever felt more anxious watching a documentary
Gen V (TV): A spinoff has no right to be this good
The Pigeon Tunnel (Movie): What a wild life
Our Flag Means Death (TV): Such a treasure
Joe Pera: Slow & Steady (Movie): Really, really loved, I kinda think he’s a genius
Poison (Movie): Just like with the other Roald Dahl shorts, I was captivated…
The Rat Catcher (Movie): …but REALLY liked this one, definitely my favorite of the four
Painkiller: The Tylenol Murders (TV): I vaguely knew about this story growing up in the Chicago area, but I can’t believe how insane it really was, or how wildly unprotected most products were back then!
Landscape With Invisible Hand (Movie): A well-executed little world
Big Vape: The Rise and Fall of Juul (TV): A sobering look at what happens when (theoretically) decent intent meets the real world
John Carpenter’s Suburban Screams (TV): Standard urban legend-y horror stories, but compulsively watchable since they’re coming from the master
The Little Mermaid (Movie): The very definition of unnecessary, but Halle Bailey was great as Ariel and Melissa McCarthy really gave it her all as Ursula
Desperately Seeking Soulmate: Escaping Twin Flames Universe (TV): I’ve been intrigued by these clowns for a long time, and it was amazing to see someone go deep into their weird world
Lessons in Chemistry (TV): Just started this, but already seems very solid
Loki (TV): I still enjoy the production design, but honestly I’m pretty indifferent to the show itself this season
Upload (TV): Still enjoying, it’s kind of disposable but it remains charming
Who Killed Jill Dando? (TV): It’s crazy that as an American I’d never even heard of her
