Here’s some stuff I’ve experienced lately (and not necessarily only new releases):

Poor Things (Movie): Really great, with a wild performance from Emma Stone

The Lobster (Movie): I then went down the Yorgos rabbithole, as I’d been meaning to see this for years and am angry at myself for waiting this long, though that final scene almost made me have to look away 😬

The Favourite (Movie): My final (for this month!) Yorgos stop was here, for this group of flat-out phenomenal women

True Detective: Night Country (TV): This new season has been great so far, and I finally went back to watch the previous season, which was very moving

Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI (Book): I loved the movie, and the book is unsurprisingly also fantastic

The Holdovers (Movie): This was a real gem, loved Giamatti of course but the whole core group was killer

The Curious Case of Natalia Grace (TV): I was loosely familiar with this story, but what an absolutely insane series of events

Saltburn (Movie): Enjoyed this, and even made it out of the bathwater scene alive

May December (Movie): Super solid, with strong performances from both leads

John Lennon: Murder Without a Trial (TV): A fascinating dive into exactly what went down

Wonka (Movie): Cute, and while I personally prefer my WW a bit darker, this had a consistent and very solid overall energy

Daughters of The Cult (TV): This got murderous far faster than I expected

Rebel Moon: Part One – A Child of Fire (Movie): I mean it’s Zack Snyder, but I liked it more than the reviews would’ve led me to believe

Time Bomb Y2K (Movie): Really interesting to get the backstory on the special task force formed for this, as I was far too distracted at the time to be paying close attention

Ordinary Men: The ‘Forgotten Holocaust’ (Movie): Just chilling

Stranger Than Paradise (Movie): An interesting slice of life, and I thought John Lurie was great
