A still from "Apple Cider Vinegar"

Media Diary (February 2025)

Here’s some stuff I’ve experienced lately (and not necessarily only new releases). In addition, our free Stream Team community has a lot more daily action happening on the recommendations front too. 💪

Apple Cider Vinegar (TV): Was super into this, loved the overall style too

Beautyland (Book): Really enjoyed this (and love the cover)

(Movie): Turns out that Fellini really knew how to make movies, huh?

The White Lotus (TV): A sorely-needed return

Lost Highway (Movie): Hadn’t watched this in a long time, check out our panel discush for everyone’s takes

Paradise (TV): Kind of an insane show, but super watchable

Oh, Canada (Movie): Interesting, loved the general structure

Yellowjackets (TV): Buzz, buzz, let’s see who gets eaten next

Emilia Pérez (Movie): Enjoyed it overall, but not sure I agree with it being Best Picture-worthy

Zero Day (TV): Liked this a lot more than expected

This is The Tom Green Documentary (Movie): Hadn’t thought about Tom Green in a while, honestly this upped my level of respect for him

Tom Green: I Got a Mule! (Movie): As did this great special!

Cunk on Life (TV): She destroys me

David Bowie: The Last Five Years (Movie): Really interesting to see the stories behind those last two albums (especially Blackstar)

Scamanda (TV): Obv had to pair ACV (above) with this

The Takedown: American Aryans (TV): A fascinating look into a chilling culture

The Gorge (Movie): Half solid, half insane, but can’t beat the title

The Kings of Tupelo: A Southern Crime Saga (TV): I accidentally watched the last episode first, and the story was so nuts that it didn’t even matter

Captain America: Brave New World (Movie): Staggeringly mediocre

SNL50: Beyond Saturday Night (TV): Loved the mini-documentary approach
