Here’s some stuff I’ve experienced lately (and not necessarily only new releases):
How To With John Wilson (TV): Probably my favorite thing on television
Inland Empire (Movie): Did not expect the rabbits
Painkiller (TV): Such an enraging situation, and I thought this was a good companion piece to Dopesick
The Retrievals (Podcast): Still in the midst of it, but scary stuff
Sorcerer (Movie): Dark and tense
Good Omens (TV): Very, very good, they’re such an iconic pair
Reinventing Elvis: The ’68 Comeback (Movie): So much pressure on one event, and he crushed it
Telemarketers (TV): Completely captivating
All The Beauty and The Bloodshed (Movie): I didn’t know much about her, so this was a great combo biopic/Sackler teardown
Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty (TV): After I randomly went deep on the ’80s Lakers last year, I’m excited to have this back in my life
Ed Zitron’s 15 Minutes in Hell (Podcast): Quick and sassy
Wanted: The Escape of Carlos Ghosn (TV): I’d heard small details over the years, so it’s fascinating to get the whole crazy tale
Wings for Wheels: The Making of ‘Born to Run’ (Movie): I’m always a sucker for album docs, especially when it’s about one of the all-time best
The Day After Trinity (Movie): Had to keep the Opp train from last month rolling a little bit longer
Last Call: When a Serial Killer Stalked Queer New York (TV): I’d never heard of these murders before, which I guess was the whole sad point
The Beanie Bubble (Movie): Beardless Zach G really went to town
Only Murders in The Building (TV): Still a delight, and you can’t go wrong with a dash of Meryl
Glitch: The Rise & Fall of HQ Trivia (Movie): What an insane ride
Physical (TV): This show continues to be more entertaining than I ever expect it to be
Ahsoka (TV): Seems fine so far, though not being up on Clone Wars I only loosely know what’s going on
Fisk (TV): Charming (and another good @ginab recommendation!)
How to Become a Cult Leader (TV): Obvs had no choice
