To stay on top of the various comings and goings in the ol’ tech industry (and always stay diversified/never put all eggs in one basket), I run a number of independent projects, while also maintaining active accounts on several other platforms.

If you want to follow along at home, here’s a basic list (omitting some necessary/boring evils that I still keep eyes on, like LinkedIn and Instagram). New subscribers/followers are always welcome!

• Vitamin (C)haos: A weekly dose of therapy I started right as Trump’s second term started. Every Monday afternoon I share five links that spotlight only the dumbest and most “amusing” Trumpworld developments. • Stream Team: An online community I run on our Mighty Networks platform (I’ve found that there’s no better way to improve Mighty than to actually host a real community myself). Get TV and movie recommendations, share your latest obsessions, fight amongst yourselves over what’s great/what sucks, laugh, cry, fall in love, get your heart broken, etc.
  
  
• ByeDoom: In an effort to reintroduce RSS feeds into the hearts and minds of non-nerds, I recently spun this up to let people follow public social media accounts without needing to use…social media accounts.

Places I’m Active:

• Mastodon: This remains my daily bread and butter, and while I do once in a while still cross-post on Bluesky, those that prefer the latter can follow my Mastodon bridge there).
  
  
• Tumblr: Ever since Automattic bought it/rescued it from the grave, it’s become part of my regular rotation again, and I find it honestly sort of therapeutic vs. the “me, me, me” focus of the social media big dogs.
  
  
• Pixelfed: Obviously this remains super nerdy, but it’s still a great little decentralized photo sharing service filled with interesting people.
  
  
• Kyle’s Link Shack: A place to follow recommended random links I come across (followable on Mastodon and via RSS too).

But Wait, There’s More:

• Too Much Kyle: For those of you that are complete maniacs, this is a little app I made that rounds up my content from many of the places above in one place, letting you subscribe via RSS and/or email.
  
  
• Baby Mama: My wife has (intelligently) abandoned almost all social media these days, but she still drops bangers on Bluesky fairly frequently.
